Jan 23rd, 2018

Huber Engineered Materials (HEM), a part of J.M. Huber Corporation, informs the global customers that its magnesium hydroxide and alumina trihydrate products will score in advance due to the current contracts and contracts that took the effect from January 2, 2018.

Packaging and product grade are the key factors that determine the price of these materials. The prices are expected to rise higher for the following alumina trihydrate grades Hymod®, Martinal®, Martifin®, MoldX®, SB and SpaceRite® and magnesium hydroxide grade Vertex®.

Despite the successful efforts to minimize the inflation pressure for its comprehensive product line, the company is under the necessity to increase price due to a number of other factors including high costs for raw materials, freight, packaging, regulatory compliance and labour.

With the aim to maintain the growing demand for its products, Huber has been continually and heavily investing in the expansion of its manufacturing facilities to increase the capacity, which also caused the price rise.

Huber has become a time-proven producer of smoke suppressants and halogen-free flame retardants for nearly four decades. The company manufactures value-added and first-class alumina trihydrate, molybdate compounds, nitrogen, magnesium hydroxide, phosphorus which are highly demanded by a variety of end-users, in particular, by coatings, silicone, rubber thermoplastics engineering, silicone rubber and wire and cable producers.
